6 Stock Photo Resources That Don't Suck

5 Stock Photo Resources That Don't Suck

1. Media Bakery / http://www.mediabakery.com

A great source of curated and high-end photos. I can typically find AFGC worthy images there within the first two pages of a search (always a good sign). Lots of options for image sizes and price per photos depends on size.

2. Colour Box / https://www.colourbox.com/

Has the look of a "traditional" stock photo website. Don't let the first couple pages of white background fool you. There's gems in them pages. You just have to be patient and dig. Prices are comparable to the Shutterstocks of the internet.

3. Photo Dune / http://photodune.net/

I LOOOOOVE ENVATO MARKET. Loooove them. They never disappoint. Photo Dune is their stock images arm. Yeah, they offer typical stock photos, but you will also always find interesting, unique and rare finds there (just like the image below). Prices tend to be on the low and affordable end.

4. Haute Chocloate / https://www.hautechocolate.ca/

Super posh style photos that you can use for your blog, social media graphics, and product mock-ups. This stock seller focuses more on appealing to feminine-centric blogs and brands. The website is easy to navigate and very organized. The downside is you do need to sign up for a membership to get access to the full library (there is no per photo pricing). But they do offer free photo samples to check out before you sign up.

5. Alamy / http://www.alamy.com/

Alamy is my secret love. For reals. Alamy is a rare bird in that they allow you to purchase iconic-like images for your website, blog, or social media WITHOUT the Getty Images prices. Want a Audrey Hepburn image without getting a DMCA letter sent to you? Check out Alamy. Prices are totally doable for the quality of images you get.

6. You Work For Them / https://www.youworkforthem.com/photos/

Another secret love of mine. Highly curated, one-of-a-kind, and totally affordable. They have the BEST selection of concept images (like the one below) and photo-based background images. Seriously. These images are sick! (<---look at me sounding hip and urban!). Check them out and be amazed.
